Fall Family Fun {{{ Alliteration is Appealing 😉 }}} | Rochester, Mi. Family Photographer

Fall really seems to have taken a quick leap into winter around here, but fortunately I was able to squeeze in one more colorful autumn session before the winds of change blew the leaves off the trees, and the weather into sub-freezing temps.  This session was extra special because it was my very first time photographing my Uncle's family as a whole.  I had photographed his daughters, for a special surprise gift that my Aunt Cindy had planned, but have not had the pleasure of catching the whole family together.
My little cousins are such beauties, each with their own personality.  At least two of the three girls thought modeling was exhausting, although the real effort went into trying to find any remnant of autumn leaves left for us to use as our backdrop.  We might've scheduled the session a bit late in the game, but I love the images we caught, even with the dwindling bits of reds and oranges and yellows that were left on the trees.
Uncle Shawn and Aunt Cindy, it doesn't take much to make your family look gorgeous.  Thank you for asking me to capture these images for you.  I had a lot of fun doing it.  :)

As you can see, my uncle is a bit of an up-stager.  Lol.  ;P

Just the Girls | Goodrich, MI. Child Photographer

My favorite sister trio returned to me this year for another photo shoot.  I had a lot of fun with them last year, and this year was no different.  They looked so cute in their coordinating outfits.  I think their mom, Sarah, knew that the vibrant pink is right up my alley.  Little Ella was not really into the session at all until we found a nice flower box to play peek-a-boo with, then she was all smiles.  In the meantime, she made her own fun by running around behind the scenes while I shot her older sisters, Abby and Olivia, which made for one of my favorite shots of the whole session.  :)

There are a few perks to being friends with your photographer, and one of them is getting sneak peaks before your sneak peak is actually posted online.  One downfall to being friends with your photographer is that she can put off posting your preview, to spread out her blogging, without fear that you will hurt her, because you have already seen a few of your pics.  ;P
Sorry for making you wait Sarah, but I know you'll forgive me.  :D

WE DID IT!!!!! | Goodrich, MI. | Child and Family Photographer

That's right, we managed to make up our rain-delayed session from the week prior to this.  I'll tell you though, it wasn't looking good. We woke up to the same weather that put the kibosh on our original session date.  It was dreary and rainy and chilly, but luckily I have patient and enthusiastic clients, who were willing to wait it out and nab our best opportunity of the day.  There was only one stipulation.  We HAD to be done in time for the Michigan vs. Michigan State game.  Lol.

We met at the most beautiful location!  The trees stood vibrant with the gorgeous oranges, reds and golden yellows of fall.  It was definitely the perfect setting for an autumn family session.  We beat the rain, and even got a peek of sunshine here and there. We did have a short battle with the breeze, but aside from that, the weather was nice to us for the entirety of our session.

This session was strategically planned to coincide with the upcoming birthday of their youngest daughter, who is turning one. Unfortunately, little miss Ella was not fond of the nip in the air, so we didn't get any outside pics of her by herself, but she rocked it out for the family shots!  (My legs nearly gave out on me from doing so many power jumps to coax out those precious smiles, but it was sooo worth it for the end result).  I don't think that there could possibly be a cuter family.  And, though we were unable to get a happy Ella outside, we got some great shots of her lovely sisters, and then we captured some ADORABLE images of her inside.
All three of these girls are total gems, and I LOVED spending the day with them, and each of their very different personalities.  This session was a long time coming, and has totally lived up to my expectations.  They couldn't be more perfect.  And, in the end, I'm happy to report that dad made it home in time for the big game, and Michigan came out with a win!  Woot woot!!!!  It was a great day for everyone...........unless you're a State fan.
;P

Thank you Sarah and Rob, for being so flexible, and working with what mother nature handed us that day.  And, more importantly, HAPPY BIRTHDAY ELLA!!!!!  :)

California Girls | Michigan | Family Photographer

When I first reconnected with my old friend, Tiffany, on Facebook, of course the first thing I did was check out her photos to see what has been going on in her life, and I got my first glimpse of her beautiful family.  Tiffany and I were friends years ago, but we lost touch and have not seen each other in over ten years.  While playing a bit of catch up, I found out that she has two precious daughters, and now lives in California.  I was grateful to be able to connect online, but I was also sure that I would not have much of an opportunity to have the privilege of meeting her girls in person.  Needless to say, when I got a message from her asking if I would do her family photos for her while she was in town, I was elated!  I couldn't wait to see her again, and to meet her babies.

We had a perfect location chosen, and beautiful weather, so I knew that we would have a fantastic shoot.  When Tiffany's girls stepped out of the car, the first thing I noticed was how much more beautiful they are in person.  I mean, they are ADORABLE in the photographs I saw online, but in person, between their sweet sassiness and their glowing personalities, (not to mention their incredibly cute little faces), they are absolute perfection.  And their mama looked amazing too!We were fortunate enough to be granted permission to shoot in the gardens of a beautiful local garden called Heavenly Scent Herb Farm.  From the moment we stepped onto their property it was more than apparent that A LOT of work and love goes into every inch of the grounds.  From the fabulous flowers that adorn every corner of the farm, to the tiniest details, like the sneaky little fairies hiding in the whimsical fairie garden, there is not one nook that has gone untended. We had a lot of fun exploring the gardens and stopping to capture some images along the way......with the help of Tiffany's ever talented brother/reflector-holder, Jon.  Thank you so much for your help Uncle Jon.  I might have to take you with me to all of my sunny sessions.  ;)  And Tiffany, I really had a blast hanging out with you all.  I hope you and the girls love your preview.  I cannot wait to share the rest with you.  :)

Princess Evangeline | Bloomfield Hills, Newborn Photographer

Meet Evangeline Grace.  She is the newest addition to a house full of girls.  Eva is the daughter of Sara from Cillerenda's Princess Couture, and has two beautiful big sisters.  Being that her mama is so crafty and talented, we were never at a loss for adorable adornments for this shoot.  All of the headpieces (headbands & crowns) are the product of Sara's craftiness and style.

Ok, so back to the littlest princess of the family.  Eva is so precious from her head to her toes.  She was a GREAT baby throughout the shoot.  I would call her a sweet pea, but I think it is more accurate to call her a sweet PEE since this girl christened just about everything we wrapped her in or laid her on.  Lol.  Luckily, that is totally expected, and we were prepared with lots of choices, and lots of absorbent cleanup cloths.  Eva is a total rockstar, and she looks good in ANY color.......as you can see.......and there was definitely no lack of color in this session.

I loved working with this little darling.  I relished the time that I got to spend lulling, shooshing, and rocking her to sleep.  And though she was ever so quiet throughout most of the time that I was there, this girl has the loudest / funniest, over exaggerated, sneeze that I have ever heard from a baby.  It totally surprised me the first time I heard it, and made me laugh each time thereafter.  She may have learned how to be dramatic from her three year old big sis, who just happens to be a Diva Fashionista Drama Queen.......and I love her to death.  She is so funny, and incredibly sweet.  She wanted to help with our shoot soooo bad, though she seemed to want to be behind the camera more so than in front of it.  After we got that perfect shot of her and her baby sissy, I helped her do a short shoot of her own with her favorite baby, Lily.   You can see the product of her natural talent here.  :)

Sweet Evangeline is also fortunate to have another loving big sister, who I was lucky enough to meet toward the end of our session.  Between her two sisters, and her mama and daddy, this little angel is sure to be showered with love on a daily basis.  I really enjoyed my time with Eva and her sisters, and I am grateful for all of the hands-on help I received from her proud mommy and grandma.  You were both amazing, and I could not have done it without you.

Sara and Andrew, congratulations on your new addition.  She is perfectly beautiful, and so lucky to have such a wonderful family.  I cannot wait to share the rest of the pics with you.  :)

Itchin' for Summer | Ortonville Child Photographer

I am a Michigan girl to the very end. I love all of the season changes and the sights and sounds and smells that come along with each of them. But, my very favorite season is summer. I love the warmth and freedom that comes along with it. Freedom from heavy bulky clothes and coats. Freedom from having to wake up early every day. And freedom to plan whatever adventures my heart desires without having to worry about school.

I shoot a lot more in the summer than I do in other seasons. Perhaps the sunshine inspires me, who knows, but it seems to be the time of the year that I accumulate the most images. Last summer I did an impromptu photo shoot with my girls at sunset, in a gorgeous field of goldenrod, in Clarkston, that is not far from my home. I have had these images on my computer for waaaay too long before I actually decided to finish them. I had finished a few soon after the shoot, but missed some real gems, so I thought I'd share some of my favs with you all.

There is a second mini shoot thrown in here too, involving my three year old. Since she is the only one who really allows me to shoot her most of the time, I have A LOT of pictures of her. She is so cute, and such a cheese ball some times. These pictures make me smile. I hope they will do the same for you, and hopefully brighten your day. :)

The B. Sisters | Swartz Creek Mi, Newborn/Child Photographer | Carri Beth Photography

I promised that there would be more to come from the session that I did with Princess B. and her big sister, Miss B. so here are some more for you to enjoy. I had so much fun with this session, and had such a hard time picking favorites to post. They are both such beautiful girls. I am so happy to have had the chance to take some photos of them.
